Paddles used in BDSM play scenarios

We associate paddles with wider impact and thuddy sensation, although some of them can and will deliver a satisfying sting. Small paddles will sting, but their larger counterparts deliver deep and thuddy pain. This sensation depends on the material it’s made with and size.

Leather is a popular choice for a quality tool. As a natural material, with its smooth, pliable surface and earthy smell, it guarantees to get you in the spanking mood! The resulting sensation will err on the stingy side (depending upon the heaviness of the leather and weight, and the blow delivered).

Wooden or thick fiberglass paddles are the best, if you are looking for intense pain with every strike.

Rigid, hard and often heavy, this unyielding device is best suited to fleshier regions such as the buttocks.  It will hit the bottom hard, delivering a real thud that warms and soon turns into a fiery sting.

Safe use and care of your paddles

  • Check that surface/edges are smooth and do not have splinters.
  • Avoid hitting with the edge of your tool.
  • Never strike the joints (ankles, knees, elbows)
  • Paddles made from porous materials should not be shared with multiple partners.
  • Clean paddles after use according to material, using antibacterial wipes or wiping with gentle soap and water, followed by drying.
